Type of hair


   Type 1 (Straight Hair)

  • Description: Straight hair lies flat and does not have any curls or waves.
  • Subtypes:
    • Type 1A: Very fine, soft, and sleek with no volume.
    • Type 1B: Medium-textured with more volume.
    • Type 1C: Coarser straight hair with more body and thickness.
  • Type 2 (Wavy Hair):
    • Description: Hair has gentle waves and may be prone to frizz.
    • Subtypes:
      • Type 2A: Fine hair with light waves and little volume.
      • Type 2B: Wavy with more defined “S” shaped waves.
      • Type 2C: Thick, coarse, and more defined waves that can be prone to frizz.
  • Type 3 (Curly Hair):
    • Description: Hair has well-defined curls or ringlets.
    • Subtypes:
      • Type 3A: Loose, soft curls that are shiny and well-defined.
      • Type 3B: Medium to tight curls with more volume and a bit more frizz.
      • Type 3C: Very tight, voluminous curls, sometimes coiled and thick.
  • Type 4 (Kinky/Coily Hair):
    • Description: Very tight curls or zigzag patterns, often highly textured and coarse.
    • Subtypes:
      • Type 4A: Soft and defined curls with a small “S” shape.
      • Type 4B: Less defined, more “Z” shaped curls, with a cottony texture.
      • Type 4C: Very tight coils that shrink when dry; may appear almost straight when wet.
